Welcome to The Startup Spot! The purpose of this site is to help entrepreneurs find business partners and investors who are interested in similar kinds of businesses. All you have to do is choose what kind of business you are interested in and enter your zipcode. You can either propose your own ideas or search for businesses other people have proposed. If you like their idea, you just click a button that says you are interested. It doesn't obligate you in any way, but you shouldn't click that button unless you might be willing to participate.
Once your business idea has enough interested people, you should schedule a real life meeting. This is why you will search for businesses by distance. You probably wouldn't want to invest in something a thousand miles away (although you can). Instead, you want to meet your future business partners and investors, spend some time with them, and discuss the details of your ideas in private. You will not be using this site to exchange money or sign agreements or anything like that. It's not something that should be done on the internet, and it's not within our scope anyway. All we are here for is to help you get together. What you do from there is up to.
We do of course provide resources to help you decide what kind of business you want to start, how to start it, where to get financial and legal help, and so on. We also provide ways for you to help each other by sharing your comments and suggestions, and discuss amongst yourselves on our message boards. Please be courteous to everyone, and please keep your million dollar ideas to yourself until you are protected by a non-disclosure agreement. Don't say we didn't warn you.
